It is that time of year again! The air is getting colder, the leaves are changing color, and one of my favorite holidays is right around the corner, Thanksgiving. It is a great time to spend with close friends and family but also a time to reflect on the past year and take a minute to really think about what you are grateful for in this life.
First..
I want to say how thankful I am for my friends and family. These people that I have surrounded myself with have made me a better person and have all added to the joys and happiness that I seek on a regular basis. They have supported me and inspired me. They believe in me when I don’t always believe in myself. I am beyond grateful to have so many loved ones in my life and it brings me great happiness to continue this journey of life with them by my side.
Second..
I am thankful for my health. I work in a field where my main focus is to help each one of my clients achieve a healthy body and mind. Reality can be extremely tough when certain things like diseases and disabilities are working against us. I try to never take for granted simple things in life- like being able to put two feet on the ground when I get out of bed, or going for a mid afternoon run whenever I want, or having no significant restrictions to try anything fitness or sport related.
And thirdly..
I am thankful for my career. I spent most of my twenties seeking careers that meant nothing to me. I thought I had to have a certain title, make a certain amount of money, or work for a specific company to “be successful”. I was miserable. I followed my heart and now work does not feel like work. I love what I do and I am excited each and every day that I get to do it. My co-workers are amazing human beings that teach me and help me grow as a fitness professional every day. My clients are the best people that I watch grow and develop into healthier and happier individuals.
For the fun, silly stuff!
I am thankful for cheese, yummmmmmmm! Thank you for making things taste better!
I am thankful for my foam roller which hurts me so bad but makes me feel ohhh so good after.
I am thankful for my cat Patrick who always makes me laugh and never leaves my side.
I am thankful for my soccer team and skill to still be able to play.
I am thankful for wine! Yup, I said it! Thank YOUUUUU!!!!!
Enjoy your holiday! Don’t forget to reflect on your year and life and all the wonderful things that you have to be thankful for.
