I was shopping at the grocery store today when the idea for this blog came to mind. After I was done shopping and loading the car with the groceries I cringed when I thought about how many trips up my very long stairs to my house I would have to take to get all of these groceries inside. Then I thought, wait, this is perfect….just another way to squeeze in a workout.
So here are some tips to squeeze in random, anytime, anywhere workouts! Organic Fitness at its simplest: workouts anytime, anywhere! Join the movement, it can only help you get that much closer to your fitness goals.
Load up a basket and carry it around. My arms were exhausted after I filled my basket to the brim with all of my goodies for the week.
Carry those groceries in to the house yourself! I was doing bicep curls with the grocery bags as I climbed the stairs to get inside.
Sitting at your Desk
Dips on your chair.
Work meetings…ask to go for a walk or meet at the gym instead of out to lunch or dinner.
An exercise during a commercial.
Sit ups or stretches when your laying there.
At the Sink
SQUATS. Brush your teeth and do some squats. I can get in an extra thirty squats a day.
Try some roll ups. Just roll up and touch your toes and then lie back down. Repeat twenty times.
In the Car
Pick a muscle and contract it and hold it. SQUEEEEZE. Burns calories and works those muscles! Woohoooo!!!
Anytime you go to the store, park far away. Get those extra steps in wherever you can. Why not???
Take the stairs whenever possible. I always look for the stairwell. First, it’s good to know where the stairs are in case of an emergency, and second, you get a little workout in! PERFECT
