Have you ever struggled finding a jar or something to store a body scrub, food, or even a gift? Have you ever considered using a mason jar? We’re HUGE fans- let us explain….
Mason jars are a great, inexpensive way to store anything from DIY body scrubs, hair ties, gifts, nuts, you name it! They add the perfect touch to any gift or even jazz up a body scrub. Also, let’s not forget that since they’re glass, you don’t have to worry about the yucky toxins! (pheww, what a relief!)
I always decorate them and give them away as gifts! I try to spice up the mason jars every chance I get. Mason jars are so versatile that they can literally be transformed into anything! Here are some creative ways to decorate and use a mason jar.
Check out our favorite ways to use mason jars here at Dreamingreengirl:
1. Smoothies & Infused Waters
We love using mason jars to drink our smoothies or sip on refreshing infused water. They’re perfect for when you’re on the road: going to work, class, errands, you name it! If you don’t want to finish your drink, no problem..use the lid and store it in the fridge for later! Stir up our Kale & Berry Smoothie and drink it out of a mason jar.
2. Body Scrubs
Whenever I make a body scrub, I always store them in a mason jar. They’re perfect, because it’s easy to store and really convenient. You can use a little and put the rest away for another time. Personally, I think it also makes the scrubs last a little longer. Make yourself one of our great body scrubs (my personal favorite: Vanilla-mazing Body Scrub ) and store it in a mason jar.
Want to be unique, creative, and cute when giving a gift? Mason jars are a great and inexpensive way to give someone a gift for a birthday, Mother’s Day, anniversary, giveaway gifts, you name it. Pull together a few items (Ex: nail polish, nail file, an EOS lip balm, gift card etc) and put a ribbon on the top. Your friend will be blown away at how cute it is! The mason jar is also a gift in itself 🙂 Your friend can use it afterwards–what a plus!
Using a mason jar is one of the best ways to store a layered salad. You can make it in advance, (it keeps well in the fridge for 2-3 days) and then when you are on the go, you can easily grab it to take to work, class, shopping etc…. I love this photo on Pinterest as a layering reference to keep it fresher longer!
5. Storing & Organizing
Mason jars are ideal for storing & organizing. They’re perfect for storing anything from office supplies like paperclips, to beauty supplies like hair ties & bobby pins, to food like nuts & seeds. Easy, affordable, and can be used as decor to boot!
What are you waiting for? Go to the store ((Michael’s, The Christmas Tree Shop, your local hardware store, Target) and buy yourself some mason jars! I’m guilty of using mason jars for almost everything. Let us know what you use your mason jar for? @dreamingreeng
